A Hip-Hop Story
At the beginning of 2006, I interviewed a Cuban immigrant named Leoni and he became the focal point of my piece A Cuban Story. The story opened my eyes to the double-standard of immigration and the hardships many undergo to attain even a chance at American oppurtunity in the United States. In the coming month, I will be writing another story about Cuba, but this time the focus will be on Cuban hip-hop and the underground movement that gave many the hope and courage to fight for freedom from the Castro regime. This Thursday I will be interviewing Leoni for a second time. He is a hip-hop artist and revolutionary who lives in Oakland. His words were is savior
